The Astra Academy is a demonstration of Astra’s commitment to the personal development of our employees, as well as our desire to improve the levels of Health and Safety not only internally but in the wider industry.
The Academy focuses on three main areas: Engineers and Fitters, Hire Desk Operators and Sales Personnel.
Training for Engineers and Fitters is centred around Health and Safety, Product training and mandatory qualifications such as Driver CPC Training and Lift Truck Operator Licencing. All our key suppliers including Soosan, Hydraram and Taets offer in depth product training courses throughout the year allowing our engineers and fitters to develop valuable engineering skills and expand their product knowledge.
The Hiredesk Operator training focuses on Health and Safety, IT Skills, Product training, and Operational Excellence. At Astra we believe it’s as important for our hire personnel to understand the products and importance of health and safety as it is for our Fitters and Engineers. It’s beneficial to both hire desk staff and our customers to know the products and their uses in order to offer advice to customers when selecting the right attachment for the job.
Sales Personnel training covers Sales Optimisation, Product Training, Health and Safety, and Vehicle Skills for mobile sales personnel. If you have a passion for sales and speaking with different people every day then our sales training programme will help you develop this passion, learn new sales skills and develop your product knowledge. We are committed to developing the product knowledge of all our employees, turning sales personnel into product specialists. This approach is unique to the industry and allows our sales team to offer sound advice to all our customers on the full product range on offer.
